Emergency Assistance and Community Resources

Holy Spirit Parish Christian Service Ministry provides financial assistance, donations and resources to individuals and families facing unexpected hardships or local emergencies within our community. If you are struggling to make ends meet, our parish community is here to offer support and guidance.

The seven Corporal Works of Mercy are derived primarily from Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel of Matthew and are a traditional Catholic way of understanding charitable actions. They are viewed as a direct way to serve Christ by serving the poor and vulnerable

These three of the seven Corporal Works of Mercy describe the work of assisting individuals and families in an emergency:

  • Shelter the Homeless: Emergency funds may be available for eviction prevention, rent support, or temporary lodging. Keeping a family in their home directly answers this call.
  • Feed the Hungry & Give Drink to the Thirsty: Funds are provided directly to the agencies to prevent utility shut-offs or to restock local food pantries.
  • Clothe the Naked: Donations often cover immediate needs for clothing, seasonal gear, or household supplies for families recovering from disasters or extreme poverty.
